2 3/8 Drain hole in bathroom sink...

I'm hoping someone here can help me. We bought a bathroom vanity which has a glass counter with 2 3/8" drain hole. We need to buy a vessel sink but everything I've read so far states that the drain hole is far too big. I'm a total newbie when it comes to plumbing but do vessel sinks/drain assemblies exist for 2 3/8" hole or do I need to find a standard one with a bigger flange?

Thanks. :-)

can't you get a drain at the same place you bought the sink?
the vessel drains i looked at were 2-3/4.
