I have ghost ants inside, doesn't seem too bad right now, but don't want it to get worse...how or what to do to eliminate them? I've been reading thats its VERY hard to get rid of them and they dont like baits...how true is this? There has to be some way, isnt there?
I have white foot ants everywhere outside, I want to get rid of as many as I can. Ive been told they can be good for somethings but I dont want them in my house.
I'm on my way to home depot to pick up some caulking to seal some of the cracks I have out side to minimize the entrances they have. I had a "bug guy" come out and spray a couple times but he didn't seem to worried about the ones outside at all. I told him they crawl up and down the house all the time. When he came they werent of course. He says they arent coming in just going from one side of the house to the other? By climbing over the house?? I dont know, but they are everywhere and would like to say good bye to them.
Thanks for the info you guys have to share and look forward to your responses.
If they are still outside you need to establish a barrier
treat the outside of the home up to about the level of the windows
treat around all windows doors and openings and treat the eaves where they join the wall
use a good long term residual like Demand or tempo
treat the ground around the home with Termidor twice a year it's best to rake the mulch back
and bait away from the house
Maxforce granular is the best bait i ever used
ghost ants mayor may not take bait but the most effective way to treat any ant infestation is to find and destroy the nest
failing that establishing a barrier and a baiting program are your best bet
Your Bugman probably has already done this, except for the mulch raking
