Probably wrong place, but....... (snakes)
My husband just came inside from mowing and said he saw a snake going toward our doggie's yard and it turned and went toward an old shed.

Does anyone know what I can do to keep it from going into my dog yard? My dogs are my babies!!! I am just horrified!!!

Sorry if I have put this here and should not have.

The Book of Genesis has given snakes an undeserved bad rep. Most North American snakes are harmless except to bugs and small rodents. Do you know what kind it is? Get a description from your hubby and look it up. That'd be your first step. Only if it's a venomous species should you worry about it.

As a rule, snakes won't go near dogs. I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks so much! I did look it up and showed my hubby a ton of photos. He is the one who actually freaked and thought it was poisonous. I used to have a pet snake before we married, but didn't keep it long because decided that was cruel thing to do. Anyway, the photo he identified was a Coachwhip snake and it wasn't going toward our dog yard it was going along side away from it. Sorry my hubby overreacted and that I posted it here. As hot as it is here in SW Mississippi it was looking for a shade probably.

Thanks again.
