I found a tunnel in my backyard (1 ft beneath surface)
I was digging a French Drain system in my backyard yesterday when I found a tunnel about 1 ft beneath soil surface. It's about 15 ft away from my house. The tunnel is about 3" in diameter and seems to have recent dwellers. I pulled out several dry branches of some plants from inside the tunnel.
I pour water into it and after a while it filled up. I waited a while but nothing comes out. Is it rat holes? We don't have gophers here. Whatever it is, any thing I can put in the tunnel so that the dwelling animal will be killed? I don't wanna put poison in there for fear of contamination of the soil. And then I think of making some sharp barbed wire kind of thing. Any suggestions are welcome. |
