Carpenter ant issue


I have battled carpenter ants for years and have had professionals treat for them but they still return every spring and summer. I noticed numerous ants going up the side of my house and started treating them with advion gel. Today on the back of my house I saw another row of ants going up my house. There is also an approximately 6" x 4" carpenter ant nest below an overhang on the outside of my house. I placed advion there as well and have some Termidor on order. This nest scares me! Is it time to call a professional?

Carpenter ant issue


Any fipronil based product (such as Termidor) will work well on ants. Treat the nest and spray a perimeter where the soil meets the foundation wall. Spray nearby tree trunks as well.

Carpenter ant issue


You can also line the perimeter of your house with white gravel, if that is a landscaping option. Ants like moist places (which I found out on this site) and the rocks are usually dry.

I also used some Ortho Home Defense and havn't seen any since!!
