what color sofa and chair

Please help! My living room carpet is yellow-beige background with tones of green ivy crisscrossing. I have two wing chairs that are green with a little blue in the subdued small print (kind of like shell figures). The walls are tan, white woodwork. What color sofa and chair should I get? The interior decorator selected a plain, light cool tan, and a plain warm yellowish tan. Then spruce up with pillows. Which should I pick? The yellowish looks better with the carpet, but the cool tan looks better with the wall. Help, please!

I would not try to match something as expensive as furniture or its covering to paint color! That is just backward.

Get the fabric and furnishing you want and change the wall color to match. Paint is easy to match to what you want and relatively cheap.

Neutral color upholstery along with your neutral color carpet, bringing in the color with some accessories and throw pillows and wall paint. That way years from now when you get tired of the walls and pillows, it would be inexpensive to go with another theme by paint and new pillows.
