Hi everyone.
I'm brand new here and was looking for some advice on decorating a large living room that will probably have 2 or more distinct "areas" in it. I've never had a large living room before, and especially not one with a unique layout such as this one, so it's challenging for me and I've hit a mental block with my ideas. I hope some of you can help me with different perspectives. Here are some of my goals/constraints:

Any ideas or pictures of particular layouts or styles that might work for a long divided living room would be greatly appreciated!
EDIT: for those of you who would like to play with the layout in sweet home 3d here is the file. I don't know about the furniture libraries and whatnot but hopefully the room layout will stay intact.

I hope some of you can help me with different perspectives. Here are some of my goals/constraints:
- I like "open" concepts, not much clutter and keeping window spaces clean
- The doors need to have plenty of room around them for human and dog traffic, and I don't want the fireplace area to be crowded, but would like a "living" area there
- I need new furniture to furnish this place and I'm on a budget, so making the most out of a large space with less furniture would be ideal
- I'd like to have a TV area against the wall opposite of the wood paneled wall
- I'd really like some kind of design with sectional couches with chaise lounges, or L shaped couches, but am concerned about not having room to walk. The room seems much smaller than numbers or pictures let on.
- I like sofa tables and small storage type tables as seen in this picture (p.s. what do you call these things on the right side?) - http://bogusdesign.com.ua/images/phocagallery/livingroom/thumbs/phoca_thumb_l_living006.jpg
