help with accessories

Hi, I'm new to the forum so please excuse long thread. :) We are in the process of decorating our family room. I will start by adding the other colours in my home so you have a base to help.
I have an open floor plan with kitchen, back entry and dining room sharing one space. Our large ( 22' x22' ) family room is sunken down from the dining room and visible from everywhere. ( It is actually the old attached 2 car garage with the wall removed creating family room) The kitchen cabinets are benjamin moore "Muslin" in which the island is visible from all rooms including the family room. The rest of the space is painted ben moore "wild mushroom" with one wall (with bay window) in the dining room painted ben moore "dinner party" red. The family room is very bright with 3 windows and a single french door so I wanted a warmer feeling in the room, so we painted 3 walls the "dinner party" colour and 1 wall ben moore "great plains" tan (fireplace with floor to ceiling stone in tans, chocolate and a few black stones).....we love the warm, dramatic feel of the colours. For now our furniture is black leather ...2 sofas ,2 small ottomans...oak coffee table and end table.we also have black/brown cabinets on either side of the fireplace....
I'm not sure what to do for accessories for walls, sofas, curtains....I should mention I have black pieces throughtout the rest of the house... island bar stools, picture frames to tie in all the black...
What type of material or design should I use for throws on the sofas as well as wall art? For now the sofas must stay but would like to have tan furniture in the future. Really need help with curtains!!
Thanks for any ideas!! Can't get my camera to upload pics right now, so hopefully you have some suggestions. Sorry for the long post!:)

Hope I'm not too late to your post. It sounds like you have a good mix and balance of color and pieces. I would add some more textural features to the space with your accessories and fabrics. We're you able to get a picture? I would be able to be of more help ;)
