hanging lamp in dorm room

My daughter has a hanging lamp(paper lantern) and can't find ANYTHING that she can use to attach to the popcorn ceiling. Commnad strips won't stick. Any suggestions? Holes are not allowed

You might luck out and find something like this, and modify it for paper lanterns.

Import stores should have floor base things with an arm and hook for lanterns. Outdoor patio store may too.
