Empty space ideas

I recently built a new wall that is approximately 9 feet long between my kitchen and the den. The two rooms are now separated by the wall and a pocket door. The new wall has several base cabinets, countertop, backsplash, one 36" wall cabinet and one 24" wall cabinet mounted. I am left with about 12 inches of space between the last cabinet and the pocket door trim. Because the wall is supported by a split jamb for the pocket door, I am hesitant to hang a cabinet that might get loaded with weight and there really is little solid anchor to mount to besides the bulkhead. I am looking for ideas on how to utilize the space effectively without requiring deep anchors into the wall or requiring the support of a lot of weight. I have mulled knife racks, paper towel holders, etc but nothing seems to really make sense so far. Any ideas?

Leave it as is.

What about a pot rack hanging from the ceiling?

Has to be a pretty small pot rack. It is only a foot of space (12 inches).

A photo of the area might help. We have a pocket door area like that also, with about a 9" strip of wall. I've tried decorating it with various things, and in the end took it all down and left it alone. Less is sometimes better. We did hang a matching wood towel bar from our cabinetry instead of the wall, but our cabinet ran floor to ceiling. That is actually useful.

We have a space about the same size in our kitchen.
We made a cute shaker clock and underneith the clock
we made a frame for a special pic of hubby when he was
about 8 years old and was on a calendar.

I think a clock in your space would look nice as well.

Corner shelves or a nice fancy spice rack would work.

Personally, I would not do anything with that space, as I stated before. It would look better with that "White space".

Shelves with a curved edge would look nice and be useful as well
