Worth paying for wet grinding glue off concrete lanai?

I have a concrete staining company that will prep my 9x20 ft lanai for staining by wet grinding the glue left on after I pulled up outdoor carpeting for $270 so I can stain it myself or I can pay them an extra $500 to stain it for me. Money is tight and i have tried to remove the glue myself with solu-strip but can't so I am considering paying for the prep only. Is concrete staining really something I can do myself or am I kidding myself? I saw quikrete at lowes

$270 to remove the glue that you can't otherwise remove with chemical stripper doesn't sound like a bad deal at all. Especially, when you factor in the tools, time, and experience the contractor has (should have, anyhow).

Concrete staining usually involves applying an acid to lightly etch the surface, and applying the stain. Doesn't sound too hard. I'd save the $500 and do that part myself.

you saw quickrete at lowes....so....are you staining an existing or pouring new?

I suggest you do not use any solvents---the solvents will soak the glue deep into the porus concrete---

Might cause the stain to be blotchy and uneven---

a thought came up...you might try renting (or buying at harbor freight) a handheld grinder and putting a steel wire brush wheel on it. That might remove the glue, if you're wanting to trying DIYing that part.
