Wood Floor Problem-Surface Wearing Off


Wood floor has a problem where the sun has lightened up area, and surface is wearing off in some areas.

Please look at pics, and I would appreciate your help. Thank you.

How old are the floors? did you have them installed? looks like a possible defect in finish

Hi, thanks for your concern.

Floor was professionally installed. @ 5-8 years old. The Sun beats down on this area daily. Remainder of floor is fine.

Has someone recoated that floor somewhere along the line? Only solution I see is to resand & refinish.

if you still have the information, you might still be under warranty... nowadays, they offer up to 25 years finish warranty.... looks like the finish is peeling off... any spills of any chemicals?????

You've already identified the problem. "The Sun beats down on this area daily. Remainder of floor is fine."

You are supposedto protect wood, vinyl, carpet and other fabrics from the sun.

was it prefinnished or did the sand and finnish?
