Wood Floor Faded from the sun

My wood floor has faded from the sun near the patio door. What makes it worse is the floor under the area rug is not faded! I'm assuming I should put up shades to reduce the sunlight shinng on the floor? Or should I pull up the rug so the floor all fades evenly? What else can I do? Thanks!

Lowes, Home Depot, on line, just Google it.
It's a film that goes over the glass on the window.

I have a large oriental rug in my family room which has no curtains but I had 3M solar tinting applied to my windows and there is no fading. I did not do the install myself, I had it installed.

What type of wood?

Different species change color at different rates and in different ways.

If I were in your shoes, I would leave the rug off and wait. If it took years to get that way, though, it may take years for it to even out somewhat. The rate of color change does slow down with exposure time.
