Wood Floor Faded from the sun

Pamela60067 Newbie   Join Date: Nov 2012 Posts: 2	Wood Floor Faded from the sun My wood floor has faded from the sun near the patio door. What makes it worse is the floor under the area rug is not faded! I'm assuming I should put up shades to reduce the sunlight shinng on the floor? Or should I pull up the rug so the floor all fades evenly? What else can I do? Thanks!

repairlady Newbie   Join Date: Feb 2011 Location: Tampa, FL Posts: 24	Wood Floor Faded from the sun I have a large oriental rug in my family room which has no curtains but I had 3M solar tinting applied to my windows and there is no fading. I did not do the install myself, I had it installed.

If I were in your shoes, I would leave the rug off and wait. If it took years to get that way, though, it may take years for it to even out somewhat. The rate of color change does slow down with exposure time.
