Wood baseboard and tile flooring
I've read most of the posts regarding using tile or wood baseboard with a tile floor. We are planning to tile only a portion of our basement floor area. The entire basement has wood baseboard with carpeting. I'd like to continue the use of the wood baseboard as it isn't in an area subject to moisture like a bathroom or kitchen area.
What is the easiest and simplest way to make sure that the wood base board all lines up at the joint between the tile and carpet flooring. Is there any particular tool or machine I can rent to trim down the base board? I plan to remove the base board before the tile job and then just reinstall the same base board.
Depends how much you want to spend and how good you are with various tools. A relatively cheap jig saw will do it. A circular saw would work but a bit more difficult to keep a straight line IMO. A table saw will do it but cost a lot more than first two but you'll have one for later on projects if you think you'll be using one.
