We would like to replace all our flooring with hardwood flooring but are having a hard time deciding what color to go with. We own 4 white shedding dogs and although I sweep and dust daily I do not want the floors to always look dirty. Anyone have success choosing the best color?
I just helped my friend install some 3/4" solid hard wood, 4" clear maple ( maybe bleached maple?? ). it was pre-finished stuff, with a non-glossy finish, slight beveled edge. I can tell you, it's perfect for dogs. He has a 100lb chocolate lab running all over the place, and it looks as good as the day we installed. Light dust, paw prints do not seem to show barely as much as my 2.25 beveled edge glossy stuff I have installed in my home.
So, lighter woods would help in your situation.
to solve the hair issues I bought a ROOMBA vacuum. just push a button and it automatically vacuums the room. I VACCUuM DAILY! think my wife would appreciate it, Appearantly just pushing the button doesnt = helping with the housework, But the vaccum works great. enjoy the floors

I have a post on here LABELED SCUFF MARKS see my floors. I have one lab and it's really bad. If we redo our stain were going alot lighter for that reason and everything little thing shows.
