Where to start?

Hello all,

I am installing Shaw laminate this weekend. I have everything prepped in the bedroom where I am beginning but I am running into kind of a snag. Everything I've read says to start left to right, which I am, but it doesn't say anything about how to start if there is an existing door into the room that you are going! I am adding pictures for reference. Any answers or ideas would be great!

And lastly--there is a large gap going from the bedroom into the bathroom where tile is laid. The threshold seems to be much higher than what the new floor is going to be. Any ideas?

You will need to undercut the door jambs to slide the lam underneath them.

Looks good how you have it...you will just need to strip between your starting row and then a transition piece from the laminate to the tile.

It went terribly. I had to have 3 different people come in to help. 1 to show me what I was doing wrong; 2 to finish it for me.

Love the floor but it was harder than what everything that I read and talked to people about.

Shaw is a little different than some other laminates. Their newer locking systems have to be installed correctly, that is you have to lift and drop them into place. A lot of other systems allow the laminate to be placed flat and tapped into place instead of clicking down like you are suppose to. It's easier to cheat that way but it damages the laminate itself.
