What type of grout and sealer is the best for flooring

What type of grout is the best for ceramic flooring and sealing it? I didn't know when I put down the grout I needed to pile on the sealant so the grount is stained and looks pretty bad.

Hey Skull,

I'm actually here with a very similar question. I have always been under the impression that some - not all grout sealers turn the grout a slightly different color. I was hoping someone could shed some light on this for us as well.

My brother in law told me he had to really soak his grout with the sealant and let it soak in until it couldn't hold anymore (told me a little too late) and not to use white, to get a darker color so it doesn't show dirt.

What type of grout and sealer is the best for flooring

I guess I used the wrong kind of grout or did it wrong because mine cracked real bad and broke apart so I tried replacing the worst parts with a different kind of grout which I didn't seal correctly so now I have 2 kinds of grout, neither of which look very good, and a horrible time trying to get it up so I can fix my broken tile and redo the grout correctly.

A handyman I am not.

Sounds like you have more problems than the grout. Wrong grout and not sealing does not cause tiles to crack.

Rather then letting us guess, why don't you tell us what type of tiles, the width of the grout joints, the kind of grout you used, and what you set it with and over what?
