What type of flooring product?

I'm ripping up the rug on a floor in the downstairs of my house (split level) and found 9x9 tiles that appear to be some type of laminate floor product glued to the concrete floor. The tiles have a faux wood finish and when I chipped a corner, they have a brittle consistency, almost like terra cotta. The tiles are about 1/16 th of an inch thick or so and I've never seen a product like it before. The house was built in 1975 and my concern is asbestos. I don't know if the floors were put in when the house was built or sometime thereafter. I'll try to attach a picture but my computer is shot and I'm trying to figure out how to do it from my wife's iPad. Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

I think asbetos tiles had become more rare by the mid 1970s, but the fact that they're 9x9 would make me hesitant to remove them. What type of floor are you wanting to put in? When I did a floating wood floor I just went right over them.

I'm looking to put some tile down and while I'm not looking forward to ripping the floor up, I'm hesitant to put tile down over it.

Very possibly asbestos tile. Only dangerous when friable. Keep them wet while removing them.
