I get very little complaint, if any, on any laminate at my store and believe me, I hear every complaint that comes in. Some of the cheaper brands break when clicking into place and then separating. Try some full pieces, click them together a few times and make sure the tongues are staying together.

Edit.... Just a thought, I find that the floors with ridges to give a feel of graining are more likely to scratch than the smooth floors.
