What is apartment grade carpet?

Is apartment grade a specific standard, or does it vary? Does it have a specific weight per square yard? A specific density? Also does it have a specific type of padding? Thanks

Floorwizard Member     Join Date: Dec 2003 Location: Alaska! Posts: 1,522	What is apartment grade carpet? Apartment grade really means low level quality flooring. Affordable is another way of putting it. Usually around 25 oz FHA approved along with a 5# rebond or whatever beneath it.
