water spill into the living room (hardwood floor) and it leaking into the basement.
My question is that when water spell into the living room in some area, it leak into the basement. I do see a big hole (unable to describe but like a big crack) on the area that support the floor.
I don't know if the flooring is to old because when i purchase this house, no one was living there throughout the winter.
The wood floor does have moisture and i think mold had start growing on the floor of the door.
what is the best solution for this flooring to stop leak into the basement when the floor is wet.
Sounds ongoing! Why is the floor getting wet to begin with? Why is leaking into the basement your only concern? How about a little more information?:)
Spilled water leaks through the wood floor
I have a similar problem. In my house built in 1918, there is no subfloor, the hardwood is laid directly on the joists. We are having a debate as to keep the hardwood floor or cover it with underlayment / tile. Liquids spilled on the floor leak through to the basement and it "rains" on my shop as it has more than once.
Is there a way to "seal" the crack to retain spills on top of the floor?
