Want to replace my Pergo laminate wood flooring in kitchen - NEED HELP
We just installed new cabinets and counters. When they removed the old cabinets I noticed that there was about 2 layers of linoleum underneath...I knew something else was under as the kitchen floor is higher than our regular wood floors in the other rooms that join the kitchen.
Anyways, we added new cabinets to one side of the kitchen and they put them on top of the Pergo and supplimented wood in the areas were they took ould the old cabinets so everything was the same level.
My question is: How can I cut around my new cabinets to remove the Pergo? I dont' want to disturb the old linoleum as I am not sure if they contain asbestos. The hosue was built in 1965.
Any tips/advice/help would be greatly appreciated.
We plan to put Pergo-like laminet tile looking down.
(That any legitimate cabinet installer would do that.)
There is a tool called a toe-kick-saw made to do just what you are needing to do. Be advised if you rent one or buy one it is one of the most dangerous tools there is in the hands of a novice. BE CAREFULL.
You could also use a tool like a Sonic Crafter made by Rockwell, Fein, (and others).
