vinyl tiling on cement floor

Has anyone used the sticky vinyl tiles on a concrete floor? Looking at putting down the ones you can grout, but the vinyl is warm to the touch. Wondering if they are warm once you put them on the cold concrete floor? Also wondering how you prepared the floor before laying them down? I'm thinking I may need to level the floor first. Never done this type of project. I've tiled a tub surround, but never on a concrete floor.

What do you mean they are warm to the touch? If the room is 72, the tiles will be 72. If they're outside in the garage and it's 40, the tiles will be 40. Your basement floor will be colder than the room and that's what the tiles will be.

All vinyl flooring comes with directions which can vary. The floor has to be very smooth, every little blemish will show thru and/or crack the new vinyl tiles. Self stick on concrete below grade can work if.............

warm to the touch....like a duraceramic feel. warmer to the touch than normal porcelin tile or laminate.

I think your concern is going to be with moisture in the concrete. If I'm not mistaken, the test is to tape a sheet of plastic over a small area and see if it has moisture under the plastic over a period of time.
This was done at one business I worked at and they all curled at the edges and had to be removed, too much moisture in the concrete.
I understand the some levelers have the moisture block in them.

You really need to do a cacl test for moisture first.
