Default using penny round tile sheets to make a large bullnosed egde

i'm trying to using penny round tile sheets to make a large bullnosed egde to enclose a tub. the attached picture shows exactly the look i'm going for. how do i do that...build it up with concrete or are there flexible backboards that i can use to get that large edge?
