uneven subfloor - How to fix?

Kitchen floor was built 25 yrs ago, right now it is vinyl flooring. Some vinyl floor tiles are peeling off, where I see subfloor plywood is uneven. The edge that is problematic has one piece of subloor edge 1/4 inch lower than the next one.

How can I fix it without totally tear up the floor?

thx

If it's exactly 1/4 inch low, fill in the low spots with 1/4 ply or tile backer.

If it isn't exact try a vinyl adhesive floor leveling mix and it can be feathered out over a distance so it is less noticed. Levelastic is a popular brand

1/4" sounds like you may still have a layer of 1'4" underlayment to remove---post a picture if you can--

If it's just underlayment--removal is usually easier than raising the rest to match.
