underlayment for tongue and groove laminate wood flooring

is it necessary for me to put any underlayment on my floor laminate. I am stripping out the carpet and it will be going on a concrete flooring. Am going to practice in my kids rooms.

Yes, you need under-layment.

There are several different types/grades. The cheapest is about 25 cents sq/ft, and is almost like tiny packing bubbles. There are other "quieter" under-layments as well.

Don't waste a floor in order to save a buck.
