Underlayment removal around toilet

My question is pretty simple, I'm in the process of renovating one of my bathrooms, I need to remove the underlayment from the floor but I am not sure if I need to remove the flange that the toilet was sitting on. The question is do I need to remove this flange or when I start to remove the underlayment is it going to have just been cut to accommodate the flange so I should just be able to pull the underlayment and the toilet flange will remain exactly where it is at currently.

Thanks!

You won't know until you lift the toilet---Underlayment is most often cut around the flange.

If it is under the flange ,and in good shape, you can leave it---just cut around the flange with a chisel or Multi tool.

Post a picture if you have more questions when the toilet is removed.
