Type of Tile for Basement Bathroom
I want to replace the old ceramic tile on my small basement bathroom floor. Lowe's has some inexpensive ceramic tile that I actually like better than the more expensive tiles I've seen. Does anyone know if there's anything wrong with ceramic tile from a big box store like Lowe's?

Also, is porcelain tile better than ceramic tlle? I assume both would be water-resistant.

Generally speaking the quality of tile from the box stores is quality tile, but, they do lace-in some cheap stuff routinely. If installed properly even the budget tile is a good product for a bathroom. Don't worry about it. Install it with modified thinset and apply good coverage (min.85%) and you'll be fine.

Porcelain tile IS ceramic tile but of a more sophisticated recipe basically. Porcelain tile is the better choice because of density which converts to lower moisture absorbency for outdoor use.

Go for it!:)
