hi. i would like to replace my baseboards now but replace the carp in the future, maybe next year. was wondering if i will have the take the new baseboard out in order to get the carpet installed or can it somehow be tucked in underneath.
If the old carpet is tucked under, just put the new baseboards where the old ones are. If not, the baseboards can be installed 3/8 above the floor or down flush. It won't matter to most installers. I prefer that they be on the floor because that makes it easier to trim with a carpet trimmer. But some installers like them raised.
