Transition from hardwood to tile

I ripped up old damaged hardwood from my dining room that was glued down. The previous hardwood was ran right up to the tile with no transition except for a thin metal strip (actually didn't look bad and had no issues with expansion). ref picture . Question - Should I run my new engineered right up to that metal strip with no transition or should I use a T transition? If I should use a T transition it seems like it would be out in the room too much since they ran the tile to the edge of the door frame. Would I just run a board up to the left and right edge of the T?

BTW, I am gluing down.

A "T" molding would sit on top of and lap both the new wood and the tile. It may also be a tripper.

So now you are going to float a floor rather than glue it down?

Now you do need a "T".

You could slightly clip the corners 45 dgrees at the ends on the wood side maybe.
