Transition from hardwood to ceramic tile.
 

I need to find a threshold or transition piece to connect a ceramic tile floor with a wood floor. When I planned the tile install, I assumed I would use a 1" by 3" marble sill, and left a 3" gap . I wound up having to put Cementboard down before the tile, and noe the tile floor is appx 11/4 inches higher than the wood floor. Where can I buy a wood threshold to bridge this gap. I thought of using the marble sill, and then a piece of 3/8 or 1/2 " door stop or quarter round to transition up to the tile, but don't like the idea of gluing the wood to the marble. Any ideas would be appreciated.

you could make your own out of 5/4 ( 1 1/4" ) oak. Square on the tile side and bevel the other side with a table saw, planer or a belt sander.

Whats wrong with the marble saddle? Add a piece of 1/4 round in front and done. Use sanded grout caulking for the joint between the two. Regular grout will break in time.
