Tips for using concrete slab as finish floor?

Ill be building a 10x12' slab on grade (insulated) 1 story cabin in the coming months and am planning to keep the concrete as the finish floor.

Would it be practical to apply a self leveling compound to the entire floor surface and treat that as the finish floor? If so, can this be tinted with color?

Why would you want to do that?
What would be wrong with just using the original slab?:)
I must be missing something.

My reasoning is to reduce the number of materials used. I figured "Why buy flooring when I already have a perfectly good slab"
I could just float the slab nice and even and use that, yes, but I thought maybe a self leveler could give it a more refined smooth finish

Edit: Also forgot to mention, the floor would be thermal mass to collect heat in the winter

Well maybe...

There are self levellers made for that specific reason.:)

If you are building a new slab why would you need a self leveller over the top of it?:)
