Tiling a floor around an island

I will be tiling my family room and adjacent kitchen with an island seperating the two areas. How will I lay the tile around both sides of the island and be sure that the tiles line up properly when they eventually meet??

I would start the tiling from the jointed area. It is important to measure and mark the dividing line position accurately. Measure the exact size of the tiles (not always the same as it says on the box) and add in tile spacer sizes. Then mark where the tiles should be around the island. If you use say 5mm spacers you can always lose or gain a small amount without it noticeing.
