Tiling to edge of basement stairs....what is tha rubber strip I need?

When we tiled the kitchen floor last Oct we went close to the edge of the basement 1st step. There is this long rubber piece I need to put where the tile didn't meet the edge. I looked at the box stores and couldn't find anything. Do I get it at a tile store?

What is it called?

I don't know exactly what you are referring to---

Floor to stair nosings are often wood --set flush to the tile surface--

Or aluminum -L shaped overlayed nosing

Or an aluminum profile (look at Schluter) that is set into the thinset as the tiles are installed.

A picture of your stair /tile termination would help you get good suggestions on how to finish that---Mike----

Or even just butted up to the threshold leaving a gap that gets filled with caulking.
Are you talking about a vinyl baseboard?

What SHE (as in me) (LOL...yes females are on here) meant was something like this. But it seems I should have installed prior to tiling.

Wonder if they have them without the metal that is supposed to go under tile at edge.

And what would keep then from twisting off if there not under the tile and attached to the tread?

How much room do you have,if any, between the end of the tile and edge of the step?
