Question

Tiling in the basement?


I want to put thinset over painted concrete that has cutback on it. Then i want to tapcon down hardieboard over it and then thinset over that then tile. Is it doable? Any other ideas? Thank you for your time!

Maybe consider grinding the concrete and the laying tile right to the concrete. You can rent a grinder.

Tile can be set right over the cutback---use a two part thinset like Kerabond and Keralastic by Mepei-

It also has epoxy paint over parts of the cutback.... Previous owner did that
