tiles around a bath tub

once i build a frame for my recessed bath tub that comes with one of those exposed walls (not sure the exact name you call it), should i first put tile on the floor to go all the way to the 2x4 sole plate and then the tub over it (so that the tile actually reaches under the lip of the tub) or the tub first all the way down to the uncovered floor (concrete in this case as it is a basement apartment) and then tile to reach the edge where it meets the tub ?
