tile wall


I am fixen to tile the wall around my stove would you recomend putting up plywood first then the cement board or just screw the cement board to the studs and then tile

1/2 drywall or cementboard, then tile, no ply.

ok thanks I am useing 1/2 in cement board but just want to be sure before I put it up
