I'm renovating my kitchen in a NYC coop. I'm trying to decide on flooring. I'm intrigued with cork but I'm afraid tile will be more practical. We are a household of 3 adults, small children occasionally but we cook regulary.
I know how to keep tile clean but what about cork?
You care for cork pretty much like laminate. A damp mopping with the right cleaner it all it really needs. There are different types of cork floor as well. If you are looking at a floating type on a laminate backing then it'll have similar problems with water as laminate does. If you are looking at glue down cork then you can get one of the most resilient floors available. There is a horse farm around here that has had cork tiles glued down with epoxy and polyed over in the barn for well over a decade. They was the horses off on it and it still looks almost like it did when new.
