tile a shower

Green board has already been installed in a shower. Do i need to install a moisture/vapor barrier befor installing the tile?

I can not remove the green board to install cement board.

Any advice is very apprediated, thank you in advance!

Green board is not allowed in a wet area in my neck of the woods----Why can't it be removed?

If ,for some reason the greenboard must remain--cover it with a waterproof membrane--
