Hi All. Doing a project where we are installing floors over concrete. Part of the project includes a laundry room. We are planning on building in a subfloor for the main area using 1" XPS and 3/4 OPS, so the subfloor will be 1.75 inches. We will be using a click plank vinyl on that so it won't add much more. We were planning on using tile in the laundry room.
The original plan was to use Schluter Ditra on the concrete and putting tile over that, but that will only be .5" or so, and there will be a ledge between the main area and the tile. I'm looking for suggestions on how to handle this gap.
Should I just build up the same sub floor so the subfloor is all the same and then do the same application?
Is there a way to lay a short tile at an angle to give a slight incline between the two instead of an edge?
Or is there anything else that will alleviate the height difference?
Thanks for the suggestions!
