Tile landing Carpet stair Transition

So I am redoing my stairs and landing for the split level entry way.
The landing is going to get tile and stairs will be carpeted.

I am not sure how I should deal with the transition from the tile landing to the carpet on the lower set of stairs.

Do I bring the backer board and tile to the edge, then use some sort of transition strip ?

I also have steel hand railing that attaches to the landing using lag bolts, how can I reattach the railing ? On top of the tile or just on top of the backer board tile around it.

Will update with pics, might be more explainable.

You will want an oak stair nosing---that will require you to cut back the plywood nosing in order to get the proper set--to the other steps.

Install the nosing on top of the backer board---you will need a table saw or router to cut the piece the same thickness as your tile and thinset.

I think the handrail needs to be on top of the tile----make it easier to add a new handrail in the future.
