tile or laminate flooring

Can't decide on flooring. Think I want tile in living room, but think I might regret it because of the proclaimed "cold" look and feel. I just had a water leak so am gun shy. Any comments would be appreciated. Am feeling pressured to get started by installers, etc. some of which may be self induced. Right now I have no living room floor downstairs.

How about engineered hardwood? Looks and feels better then laminate. Although you can get quality laminate like 10 or 12mm grade higher grade the better feel and look.

How did the leak happen and what got wet? Is that issue resolved?

You also can go with tile that looks like laminate, there are a number of options.
