Tile floor or wall first?

I recently purchased my house (so I am broke and cant hire someone)and have come across a problem in the upstairs bathroom. This bathroom was all original from the mid 60's and over time, the plaster wall behind the tile in the shower area has gotten wet and gave out. Just recently the soap tray fell off and exposed a large hole. I have taken the tile off the walls and ripped out the damaged wall. We have decided to remodel the rest of the room while I am this far in.

I am going to be installing a new tile floor as well as installing tile around the walls in the room.

Should I work from the ground up in this situation and install the flooring before moving on to the walls?

Thanks in advance for any information.

I always do the wall first, Seems to me that the edges come out better:thumbsup:

Tear it all out in one big sweep. That way you can inspect and repair the all the damage in step 2 of your remodel.

Floor first.
Unless you can perfect EXACTLY how high the tile and thinset and underlay is going to be.
