Tile to carpet transition

I am tiling half a floor then having carpet on another half... I need a good transition edge between the tile and carpet..

The carpet is not commercial carpet, but standard residential carpet

I was looking at putting something like a Schluter Systems tile edge, or something similar to get a flush edge...

Do they have any carpet to tile transitions? or do you just use a flat edge tile edge trim? I am trying to stay away from big wood caps or marble thresholds... This will be a 24 ft long edge.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

There is a rubber cap transition.

not sure I'd like a rubber one either... any examples out there (or brand names) to get an idea of what it looks like?

transition

I would use z-bar and have the carpet tucked to the tile. Make sure the tile is well set and grouted before installing the carpet. If its vct tile then use any standard naplock.

These may help you as well. They go under the carpet pad. http://www.carpetshims.com/choosing_...ght_shims.html I used them after tiling my bathroom. Along with the Schluter-SHIENE, you'll have a perfect transition.
