tile/carpet threshold bad job can it be fixed?

Hi,
I'm new here and really need some advice. We have a contractor working on our bathroom and so far he has done an okay job. One thing I'm really not happy with is the threshold between the carpet and tile. Hopefully a picture will explain it better. I keep thinking my little children are going to trip and fall. Is there anything I can suggest for him to fix/change it.

Cathy,
can't quite tell by the pics, but is the metal strip showing going under the tile, and if so, is the tile sticking up above the top of the strip? I like to use some sort of threshold in between the tile and carpet in a doorway situation like yours. The metal trim pieces the tile companies carry come in different sizes. The top of the strip should end up flush with the top of the tile. Something doesn't look quite right in your pics.

Cathy,A wood reducer could be made that could cover the edge of the tile and eliminate the need for the metal carpet bar.

The door cuts are not perfect enough for a wood reducer to be flush with the tile itself.

Most installers try for perfection on the 'Show' cuts. --Mike--
