Tile Baseboard

I will begin laying ceramic tile in my basement bathroom in the next week (when the drywaller is done). I am planning to use ceramic tile as the baseboard as well, and was wondering the best way to do it. How should it line up with the floor tile? How much of a gap between the floor tile and baseboard tile (can I set the baseboard right on the floor tile)? Do I need to use caulk between them? Any other tips or pictures would be greatly appreciated.

just make sure you measure your door trim correctly when you laying tiles around door...you suppose to lay door trim first before laying baseboard... but you can do it the other way around if you do good measurement and don't come across to big or too small gap situation.

for caulking or not... I think caulking is a good idea to give additional water protection... but then you may not like the look and decide to go without caulking... either way it is not that big a deal...

Set the baseboard tile on top of floor tile and push flush to wall following grout lines of the floor. After grouting, use a siliconized caulk that matches the color of the grout used on the transition between wall and floor.

I recommend setting the base off the floor by 1/16", then caulking.
