tile backer board
I would appreciate a user opinion on using Georgia-Pacific DensShield tile backer in place of conventional cement board. It's lighter, easier to handle and cut and has a no nonsense warranty. Is this too good to be true?
I would only use it for tub surrounds and shower walls over prefab pans, don't use it for walls in mud pans.:)
I also install a vapor barrier in the corners 4" out to protect the studs there in the event moisture gets through the thinset and caulk and make sure you leave a 1/4" gap above the pan or tub and caulk this joint well after tiling.:)
