I have a twelve year old house and going to replace all the carpet in the house. I'm still doing my research but wanted to get some feedback from experts in this forum on your thoughts about pros and cons of the two types of flooring. I haven't measured out the square foot at the time of this post but will soon shortly.
#⃣1⃣ Since I'm pulling up original carpet, what types of underlayment will be needed with both types of flooring considering it's going on top of concrete?
#⃣2⃣ Which is considered easier to install for someone who has never done this type of job before?
#⃣3⃣ Which one doesn't squeak? I've heard issues with squeaking with wood flooring.
#⃣4⃣ Average pricing of each? Nothing specific just ball park.

No ones going to be able to give you even a ball park price, to many varibals.
And no ones going to be much help until you find out exactly what's on the floor under the carpet.
Was the carpets pad just laid down over the concrete?
