Thank you Flooring group!

I want to say "Thanks!" to the members of this group for helping me with my questions about installing 18"x18" porcelain tile in our guest bath. This is my first time tiling a floor, and I'm quite happy with the way it is turning out. A very nice upgrade from the 25 year old sheet vinyl which had been in there.

I used a Ridgid 4020 wet tile saw for the cuts. It's a nice little machine, for the cost, and I expect it will last long enough to do the other tile projects around here (another bathroom, laundry room, & kitchen/dining area).

Here's a shot. I'll grout next week, and set the toilet. Nice painted wooden base will cover the rough perimeter cuts.

Just thought I would update with a couple photos after final grouting, wood base installation, and new wall paint. Very pleased with the final result:

looks good on top. Post back in 8 months if you do not have any cracks in the tiles or grout. Then you will know that you did a good job underneath. What did you set the tile on? Cement board?

Nice job!

Thinset, atop Mapei AquaDefense with reinforcing fabric, atop 25 y.o. concrete slab. Prepped slab by cleaning and scarifying with diamond wheel. Grouted with Polyblend "Delorean Gray."
