taping hardibacker joints. cure time?

I have taped all the joints between my backerboards and filled gaps with thinset.

a book I have says to let cure at leasy 48 hours before laying tile. Is that necessary or can I just let dry and go? same day or next day?

I wanna do the right thing, but does it matter? any advice is appreciated.

thanks,

THB

turn up the heat and use a fan for air circulation and it might dry quicker. The mud will change colour as it dries. Don't rush it. One day should be good

Where did that book come from? If it's a large area and you want to take a break, just let it set over night. Many tile setters just tape as they install the tiles. One reason to do it that way is to avoid creating speed bumps on the seams. I guess they have trouble making the tape job real thin. Did you use a wide flexible putty knife?
